Metropolitan State University’s Information Technology Services is asking employees using Apple devices to update them immediately after cybersecurity experts became aware of significant security vulnerabilities in Apple operating systems, including those in use at MSU Denver. Apple is aware of the vulnerabilities and has made operating-system updates available to address them.
MSU Denver employees who use University-issued Apple devices should install these critical updates immediately by using the Self Service app on their device. ITS has already applied these updates to shared-use Apple devices at MSU Denver such as those used in computer labs, at front desks and on other fixed-location devices on campus.
ITS also recommends updating any personal Apple devices you may have. For instructions on installing updates on Apple devices not managed by MSU Denver, please see Apple’s support articles for updating macOS or updating iOS.
